2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe speeds from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds

Although we already had a chance to see the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, its producer revealed some exciting news. According to Mercedes Benz, the Coupe will have slightly better acceleration time than the Sedan version. Since Mercedes is known for accuracy of its stats, we do believe it.

Under the hood of the 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe is packed a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine with 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Both versions of the model come with the same engine, and deliver same hp, but their 0-60 mph time differentiates. Merc states that the Sedan version needs 4 seconds, and the Coupe (S) achieves the same speed in 0.2 seconds less, meaning in 3.8 seconds. For the AMG C63 S Coupe engine output rates are boosted up to 503 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.

Regardless of the output, the engine comes paired with seven-speed AMG automatic gearbox, which is tuned even more, to deliver quicker up and down shifting. Since it is a Mercedes, you can also expect additional favors. So, transmission is available in four modes, one of them being Individual, which means it can be suited for each customer preferences.

2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe gets slightly wider and longer body, and it will ride on wider wheels, to improve both traction and stability. Standard C300 and C63 will be different in few ways. Design of the C63 coupe will feature little bit more aggressive styling than the regular version. On its front end it will host large air intakes and more prominent side skirts, while the rear end features different diffuser insert and twin tailpipes.

Its orientation towards performance is visible on the inside as well. Starting from the seats which are designed and upholstered to deliver more comfort during high speeds, such as lower position and bolsters.

Exact pricing specs are not published yet, but Mercedes hinted that the lowest price should be around $70,000. 2017 Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe will debut at the 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show, while its sales should starts during 2016 summer.
