2017 Kia Optima Review, Performance

Kia has released the new generation Optima 4-door hybrid Sedan at the New York Auto Show. The new 2017 Kia Optima will come to the American market next year and will be followed by its even more fuel efficient plug-in hybrid model. The fourth generation version will feature some great improvements and its main competitors will be Mazda 6 and Ford Fusion.

The new 2017 Kia Optima is sophisticated and aggressive, with some elegant details. Based on the Hyundai i-40 platform, the new car has been redesigned perfectly, without changing its size. The body of the car is made out of aluminum. Some of the major changes include the revised LED headlights, which will be sharper, the restyled front grille, the new bumpers and the redesigned coupe roofline. The back area of this car comes with a sportier look and sharper tail lights, in order to give the car a more powerful look. In addition, it features alloy wheels, alarm indicators, emergency brakes, as well as a detection blind spot system.

The cabin of the new 2017 Kia Optima is luxurious, with a maximum level of comfort and able to accommodate up to five adult passengers. The major changes include a modern dashboard and an advanced steering wheel with a numerous functions. The seats are made out of the finest quality of leather. This car also features a climate control system, navigation system and is also equipped with great safety systems, such as the collision warning system, the blind spot monitoring, the warning system, as well as reliable automatic airbags and ABS brake system and emergency braking system. The new 2017 Kia Optima is powered by a 2.4 liter, 4-cylinder engine, which is able to generate 185 hp and 260 lb-ft of maximum torque. It is paired with a manual 6-speed transmission system, in order to complete the FWD setup. The optional transmission will be the manual configuration. Moreover, its fuel consumption is 24 mpg in the city drive and 35 mpg in the highway. This new Sedan will also have a hybrid engine option, with the presence of 4-cylinder engine, which will be combined with an electric motor, in order to offer lower emissions yet higher fuel consumption.

The new 2017 Kia Optima is expected to ‘hit’ the market the last months of 2016. It will be launched first in Korea then worldwide. The price of this vehicle is expected to be between $21,000 and $37,000.
