2017 Honda Civic Type R spied

Prototype of the 2017 Honda Civic Type R was spied on the streets during its testing. These images show us what we can expect form new version of popular Type R series. US citizens are eagerly waiting for this model, since this version of the Civic model wasn’t available for this market earlier. The difference between the European model and US-spec version is minimal. The two models share many similarities, and the biggest difference is the lack of rear wing seen on the Euro model. However it is unclear whether this is left out due to the fact that US-version of the 2017 Honda Civic Type R early stages of development, or Honda intentionally left it out.

Besides missing wing, 2017 Honda Civic Type R features big wheels, as well as Brembo brakes visible trough the rims. On the rear end three exhausts pipes are also visible, but there is a chance that these will not make the cut as well. Just to remind you, European model has only two.  Under the hood, we can expect 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, capable to deliver 306 hp. It will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission which will send the power to the front wheels.
