2016 VW Touareg performance

VW didn’t experiment much with powertrains of its Touareg, and 2016 model year will not bring much news, at least when it comes to its performance. Although the engines are carried over, VW could add some power boosters, and increase power rates of the existing engines.

Base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 currently capable to produce up to 280 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. As more economical version VW offered diesel power unit with great fuel economy rates. Diesel engine is a turbo-diesel 3.0-liter TDI with an output of 240 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will come paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.

Beside standard power units, 2016 VW Touareg will be available in a hybrid variant as well. It will combine supercharged, direct-injection 3.0-liter V6 engine with an electric motor to deliver maximum output of 380 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque.
