Big distinction in needs of different markets made a big gap in VW’s pocket, since their most popular European models, didn’t get as much attention on other markets. The problem, specifically with Passat sedan was with couple of things, but main remark was on its formal styling which doesn’t change often enough. This time German automaker decided to correct things with latest 2016 VW Passat.

Changes we can expect from the 2016 model year include more extensive exterior redesign, followed by interior upgrades and features enhancements. According to the words of Michael Horn, VW Group of America CEO, Volkswagen planes to include “a lot of new features, drivers’ assistance systems and so forth”, into the latest Passat’s edition.

Exterior changes will include revised front end, which will feature more than “light fixtures”. Front end will potentially receive refreshed front grill, redesigned headlights and reshaped bumpers. Considering that VW officials announced this redesign as something more than a simple mid-cycle facelift, we wouldn’t be surprised to see some more sculpting on sides and on rear end too. If the work on its exterior is reflected in sketches that emerged online, we will see even more than we anticipated.

When it comes to the interior of 2016 VW Passat, we will see some technical upgrades, but also better material quality and few alterations regarding the design of the vehicle, in order to respond to refreshed exterior. Passat will also offer more interior space, and lighter body overall.
