2016 Porsche Cayenne versions come with small changes for this model year. It is hard to give precise specification of Cayenne since its range is quite extensive, and most car magazines decide to do trim reviews separately. Even Porsche does some upgrades separately. We will try to simplify it slightly, and to give an overview of the 2016 Porsche Cayenne, taking into consideration only basics, and, of course, engine specs of the models.

New 2016 Porsche Cayenne comes to the US market in various versions, including one all-new trim. Full line-up includes Base, Diesel, S, GTS, E-Hybrid, Turbo and all-new Turbo S trim. Great looking SUV came with various changes for previous model year, so for the upcoming 2016 model year, Porsche will not be changed much. Capable to accommodate 5 passengers, Cayenne is one of the best-looking, best-performing SUVs on the market. 18-inch alloy wheels and LED lights are part of standard exterior features. Its body lines are elegant and sleek, and accentuated with great colors of the exterior.

Interior features, among other, include 7-inch central touchscreen, a navigation system, Bluetooth connection (phone and audio) and a 10-speaker sound system with a USB interface and HD radio.

There are two things which are in common to all version of the Cayenne, regardless of the engine it has. First is an 8-speed automatic transmission and second is all-wheel drive. Completely four engines are available for the 2016 Porsche Cayenne, including 2 petrol, one diesel and one hybrid powertrain.

Diesel engine is a turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that delivers 240 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Its fuel economy is estimated at 20/29/23 mpg city/hwy/combined.

Gasoline units include a turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 with two output rates, and a turbocharged 4.8-liter V8. Under the hood of the Cayenne S 3.6-liter V6 delivers 420 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque. Under the hood of the GTS model it produces 440 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.  Fuel economy for this engine is 17/24/20 mpg city/hwy/combine.

Cayenne GTS comes with a turbocharged 4.8-liter V8 unit which delivers 520 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. Packed with this unit, Cayenne delivers 3 mpg less than the V6, for every parameter.

2016 Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid is run by a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 combined with an electric motor producing 416 hp and 435 lb-ft of torque. Fuel economy for this version is rated at 21/24/22 mpg city/hwy/combined.

2016 Porsche Cayenne PRICE AND RELEASE DATE

By the end of this year Porsche will launch all models from its Cayenne SUV range. Some of these models were already presented at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year. Pricing specs are not released yet, but are expected to start at around $62,000-$63,000.
