2016 Kia Soul comes with AWD

2016 Kia Soul will go through mid-cycle facelift for this model year, since its new generation started with 2012 model. This refreshment will bring severe news though. The changes on popular Soul will be made mainly under the hood, where Kia Motors plans to add another engine, and with that, it will add all-wheel drive option, which is the first time in this car history. This company also announced constant improvements, year after year, which will include either these kind of changes, or special editions of the model.

Exterior changes will not be major. In fact, Kia will probably continue with the same body lines we got used to. This doesn’t mean that it will be completely carried over, since we can expect some modifications in terms of renewal the model. Lighting technology and some changes on the front fascia will probably be part of this redesign, while we do not expect reshape or redesign of it. Some sources indicate that we can expect higher ground clearance as well.

Interior changes will also be more a refresh than an actual change. Materials and surfaces could be upgraded, while technology features will probably be part of this facelift. We can count on more standards when it comes to base 2016 Kia Soul. Trim levels will be the same, as for 2015 model, which means it will include base Kia Soul, Kia Soul + and Kia Soul ! Do not be confused, since this South Korean producer uses signs to mark trim levels.

As we already slipped through the story the biggest news, regarding the 2016 Kia Soul will be availability of all-wheel drive system. Compact hatchback is unique and its popularity is constantly growing, and this time Kia decided to take it even further by adding this option.

Base engine is a 1.6-liter Turbocharged Gamma GDI engine with 130 horsepower and 118 lbs-ft of torque. It comes paired with either 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Front wheel drive is standard, and starting from 2016 model year, all-wheel drive is available as optional, even for the base trim.

Stronger power unit is a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that delivers 164 horsepower and 151 lbs-ft of torque. Kia may decide to add some extra power to this power until, as well, but there is no reliable info about what rates we can expect from it. Transmission and drivetrain options remain the same with this engine too.

When it comes to 2016 Kia Soul model, this compact hatch’s rivals are hard to find, not because of its mechanical specs, but more due to its unusual appearance. However seems like Nissan Juke, Jeep Renegade and Chevrolet Trax are the closest competitors.

Kia won’t gamble with price tag of its Soul, since the affordability is one of the things people love about Soul hatch. Its base price is expected to be around $16,000, while the release is expected sometime during the middle 2015.

      am interested in the 4 wd kia soul have a 2014 soul know love the car all wheel drive would be great with more power.
