Powertrain options should be carried over, as well as the unibody platform. Honda’s Ridgeline has always been praised when it comes to its power and handling, and there is no need to change much when it comes to that department.

Honda continues to offer a 3.5 liter 24 valve SOHC V6 engine with 250 horsepower and 245 ft-lb of torque, under the hood of the new Ridgeline. Current transmission mated to this engine is a 5-speed automatic, however, this could be changed, while we also can expect the stronger output this time. Improvements will be noticeable when it comes to fuel economy too. New model will be lighter than the one before, so the weight reduction will cause the improvements in fuel efficiency.

Although it is still early to claim for sure, 2016 Honda Ridgeline could also offer a four-cylinder engine, since its competitors enlisted those engines in their engine line-up.
