2016 Honda HRV

2016 Honda HRV appeared on the market recently, as an all-new model from famous Japanese brand. After big success Honda’s CRV SUV had, and big expansion of SUVs, which came at the top of the list of best selling vehicles, Japanese automaker decided to create smaller version of its CRV. New HRV comes to fill up the gap between Honda’s Fit and CRV models, and the HRV uses enlarged version of Fit’s platform.

Even though 2016 Honda HRV doesn’t share the platform with CRV, the two are actually closer in size than HRV and Fit. When compared with CRV, smaller HRV is 10 inch shorter, 2 inch narrower and 1.5 inches lower.

Exterior design has recognizable Honda’s footprint. Front end of the model is quite similar to the CRV, with practically the same grille and headlights. Hidden rear door handles are nice detail, while roofline is arched high, leaving more than enough headroom.

In order to pick up the best of both worlds, new 2016 Honda HRV took the exterior styling from bigger CRV, but incorporated flexibility of the Fit model on the interior. Seats are versatile, and offer multiple options, including flat-folding rear seats, and almost the same options for passenger seat. With folded rear seats, new HRV offers 58.8 cubic feet of cargo space.

The model is available in three trims, including LX, EX and EX-L. Standard features for the base HRV, among other, include full power accessories, , tilt/telescoping steering wheel, a backup camera, Bluetooth connectivity (audio) and Pandora Internet radio. Upper trims, and optional features offer bigger choice, among them are keyless entry and start, 7-inch touchscreen display, navigation system and more.

Depending on drive configuration and personal preferences, Honda’s small SUV can be mated to CVT or six-speed manual gearbox. The power is transmitted to front or all wheels, but the front-wheeled HRV can only be paired with manual transmission.
