2016 Dodge Viper Concept Rumors

2016 Dodge Viper will come altered, even though we didn’t expect much from new model year, since its fifth generation beginning and big redesign were done just recently. Dodge presented an all-new Viper back in 2013, but its sales weren’t going as planned. That is the reason Dodge constantly makes improvements that will enhance the sale rates of the Viper.  This year, 2016 Dodge Viper will be available as a convertible too, while the cricks also expect more power from this muscle-car.

Previous version of the Viper featured price decrease, small power increase, fuel consumption improvement and two trim levels (GT and Special Edition TA 2.0). Now Dodge prepared even bigger news. As mentioned, new 2016 Viper will be offered in both coupe and convertible body styles, while the convertible version will be very similar to the Prefix Medusa.

Style and design of the 2016 Viper will not be changed, since it recently had a makeover. It will continue to deliver the sporty and aggressive appearance, with finely equipped and decorated interior. Improved safety and technology segment for the new generation Viper was supposed to attract more customers, but it didn’t result as expected.

2016 Dodge Viper will continue to offer three trim levels, including Base, GT and GTS. Standard equipment for the lowest equipped base trim includes 18-inch wheels, power mirrors, a back-up camera, a seats and center console wrapped in vinyl, a push-button start, a 12 speakers sound system, power-adjustable pedals, piano black trim on the steering wheel and a 3-mode stability control system.

Mainly oriented to performance, Viper brings power boost year after year. Last model year, 2015 it featured 5hp increase, while it is rumored that 2016 Dodge Viper will receive much more. Main improvements for this model year are related to performance of the popular Viper.

The 8.4-liter V10 engine is capable to produce 645 horsepower and 600 lb-ft of torque. With supercharged version of the engine new Viper should be able to deliver up to 800 horsepower. Coupe version transmission will be more intense than six-speed manual transmission with short-throw shifter and final gear ratios found in the previous model. Changes on the 2016 Dodge Viper will also include bigger brakes.

Fuel economy is rated at 13 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway, while it delivers 15 mpg in combined ride.

Price will not go up, compared to predecessor of the 2016 Viper. It will stay in range between $85,000 and $108,000. New Viper will be released late next year, while some sources indicated that we can expect its debut in spring, at the New York Auto Show.
