2016 Dodge Charger Price and release date

2016 Dodge Charger will come with major alterations, since Chrysler Group CEO Sergio Marchionne announced big changes for this model as well as for 2017 Chrysler 300. Both models will change their platform, and will share the new one, too. Current, LX underpinning is already pretty old, and ready for a switch. Current platform on which Dodge Charger is built will be 11 years old by the time Dodge releases its 2016 Charger, and this period is pretty long for today’s car market.

2016 Dodge Charger changes

Beside the platform change, new Charger will be completely refreshed both inside and out. The replacement of the architecture will bring weight reduction, as well as some modifications in Charger’s dimensions. The exterior design will continue in the same direction with aggressive styling and sharp body lines. Its overall look will be sportier than the current version of this full-size sedan.

One more major difference when it comes to appearance of the 2016 Dodge Charger compared to its predecessor is its interior, which will be equipped with latest technology and entertainment features. Being the muscle car it is, its front fascia will reflect recognizable design details, which will be further enhanced with latest technology and exterior features.

Upcoming model will also have design tweaks which will influence better performances as well as better aerodynamic of the vehicle since the car producers always aim to achieve high EPA ratings.

2016 Dodge Charger engine

2016 Dodge Charger will come with engine range of Pentastar V6 and Hemi V8 engines. Although Dodge will use these engine versions, it will be upgraded ones, with more power and more efficient technologies which affect the fuel economy. It is still early, though, to claim exact engine types which will be offered under the hood of latest Dodge Charger, since this company didn’t reveal any clues about what we can expect. Some sources, on the other hand, revealed what will be transmission choices. Seems like new Charger will dismiss the manual gearbox in favor of a dual clutch transmission, while the 8-speed automatic will be kept. Rear-wheel drive will continue to be standard and all-wheel drive optional. Fuel economy will feature improvement, but still no info about how big and important this enhancement will be. Interesting news is, for sure, its SRT variants, which will also be launched, only some time after the regular model.
