2016 Buick Enclave

There is no much info about the 2016 Buick Enclave, mainly because Buick just recently revealed its 2015 Enclave. However, info we have imply that 2016 Enclave will not have major changes for this model year. Its major makeover is scheduled for 2017 year, while it will start the production one year earlier and be released as a 2017 Buick Enclave.

2016 Buick Enclave changes

2016 Buick Enclave carries on its trim levels, and comes available in Convenience, Leather and Premium. However, due to small amount of changes it received for last model year, 2016 should bring some news. Expanded list of standards for each trim, and most likely few additional shades for the exterior will be part of the small refreshment of the Enclave.

Since its appearance on the market, back in 2008 this full-size luxury crossover SUV already had one redesign, back in 2013. Back than it had some styling changes, as well as upgraded materials and features. Buick IntelliLink with Navigation could become standard for upper trims, while lower could get heated front seats, 8-way power adjustable front seat, heated steering wheel, and perhaps few more.

2016 Buick Enclave engine and fuel economy

Buick’s full-size SUV will have the same powertrain as its predecessor, according to some sources. The big changes under the hood and in overall look of the Enclave are expected for 2017 model year. Until that, 2016 Buick Enclave continues on the same platform, GM Lambda, and with the same 3.6-liter V6 engine. The V6 produces 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque, and comes packed with a six-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard for 2016 Enclave too, while all-wheel drive is available as standard or optional, depending on trim.

Fuel economy rates are not published yet, due to the fact that it is too early for prognoses, especially having in mind the fact that available info are not reliable. If the powertrains remains the same, consumption should be the same too, with possibility for some engine upgrade in order to provide some improvements. EPA estimated ratings for last year Enclave with same engine and FWD are 17 mpg city/24 mpg highway/19 mpg combined and with all-wheel drive brings 16 mpg city/22 mpg highway/18 mpg combined.

2016 Buick Enclave competition

Without any major upgrade Buick Enclave is still one of the toughest competitors on the market. It will face, first line, Infiniti QX60 and Acura MDX. Beside these two, 2016 Buick Enclave will compete against  Chevrolet Traverse and Lexus RX 350 with its competitive pricing and similar characteristics.

2016 Buick Enclave price and release

General Motors still hasn’t revealed information about exact release date of the 2016 Buick Enclave, but its reveal is expected sometime during the next summer, 2015. Approaching the date of its release, American manufacturer will release full pricing specs, but until then, we do not dispose of that info. Due to expected amount of changes, we believe that its price increase will be small, and almost unnoticeable.
