2016 Acura NSX Design and platform

New 2016 Acura NSX is built on a construction made of light weighted materials. Frame of the model is made of combination of aluminum and steel, while Acura used carbon-fiber for NSX’s floor, and both aluminum and some form of fiberglass for body panels. Thanks to this construction, new NSX will shed significant amount of weight, around 700 pounds, compared to original Honda NSX, enabling it to be as assertive and as fast as it is expected from this type of vehicle, and more.

Exterior design of the model is futuristic, modern and extravagant. Aerodynamics played a big role in design, since body lines and curves were designed in a way to bring the air resistance to minimum. According to Acura’s engineers, the upcoming NSX will have the lowest center of gravity, compared to other vehicles form its class. Dominant place on the front end takes the massive grille, amended with narrow headlight with new graphics and LED lights and stripes.

Interior doesn’t fall behind exterior looks. However it is not so similar to the Concept version presented few years ago, as we might wanted it to be. Alcantara leather is now placed only on the center of the seats, carbon-fiber parts are mostly replaced with aluminum, and the dash design is leans toward more practical look, which is not what we saw I the Concept version. Upholstery pattern and color combination of red and black is kept, but the advantage is given to black this time, instead of Concept’s red, which we find more appealing. Steering wheel is another segment inside the cabin that stands out. Its design is race-inspired, which resulted in its more square-like shape than the round one.
