2016 Acura ILX Review, Price

Acura ILX is an entry –level luxury sedan launched for the first time in 2012. New model year brought mid-cycle refreshment for the model. 2016 Acura ILX features mainly cosmetic changes, made on its exterior as well as some interior upgrades. Face lifted ILX debuted last year, at the 2014 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, in November, and its sale started just recently. When you look at the 2016 Acura ILX you will instantly notice new Jewel Eye LED headlights(low and high beams), which are incorporated for this model year as part of a refreshment. Beside new headlight, ILX also got revised taillights and new wheel design. Inside, it comes with contrast stitching on shift knob and steering wheel, as well as with some silver inserts that enhance the overall look of the cabin. Other than this, exterior and interior are pretty much the same.

2016 Acura ILX comes available in only one trim, while Japanese manufacturer offers optional packs of equipment, which include both cosmetic finishes and set of features. Completely four packs are available including AcuraWatch Plus, Premium Package, Technology Plus and A-SPEC Package. A-SPEC package can be combined with either Technology Plus or Premium packs in order to give the buyer full equipment.

Base 2016 ILX is available with 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, 8-way power adjustable driver seat with power lumbar support, heated front seats, two-zone climate control, keyless start and entry, 5-inch color info display, multi-view rear camera, 6-speaker Acura Premium Audio System and Bluetooth interface.

Not much is changed regarding the performance of the new ILX. New model will drop its 2.0-liter base engine, and will continue to offer its stronger unit as only option. It is a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder direct-injection i-VTEC unit with 201 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. The horsepower number is unchanged, compared to previous ILX, but torque of the engine got additional 10 lb-ft which makes a difference on the road.

The engine is mated to front-wheel drive (FWD) and 8-Speed Dual-Clutch Transmission with paddle shifters as only options.

Fuel economy is EPA-rated at 25/36/29 mpg city/hwy/combined.

As we mentioned before, Acura already released its 2016 ILX, and its sales stated in February this year, 2015. Pricing specs are also release, with starting MSRP at $27,900. The price goes up to $34,890 which is the price of top-equipped model with Technology Plus and A-SPEC Package.
