Subaru expanded its Outback, so t is now an inch longer and an inch wider than the previous version. This small change, however, reflected the inside a lot. With these alterations Outback provided two more cubic feet of cargo room and one cubic feet of space for the passengers on the rear seats. Without taking any chances, Subaru decided to upgrade its interior in a best way possible. Its not-so-great materials are replaced with high-quality ones. When you move to upper trims it adds on more luxurious features, such as Subaru’s EyeSight driver assist system, sunroof, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a Navigation system, keyless ignition and entry and more.

As noticeable from the trim names, 2015 Subaru Outback has two engines included into the offer. Base engine is found under the hood of almost all Outback’s versions and it is 2.5-liter four-cylinder. This power unit delivers up to 175 horsepower and 174 pound-feet of torque and comes paired to a CVT. Second engine available is a 3.6-liter six-cylinder, which pumps out 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. This engine is mated to the same transmission choice as 2.5-liter I4. All-wheel drive is standard for all trims. As we mentioned earlier, among improvements for 2015 model year is the efficiency of the Outback. Equipped with 2.5-liter I4 engine Outback delivers 25/33/28 mpg city/hwy/combined. Versions with more powerful engine deliver 20/27/22 mpg.

The closes rivals for 2015 Subaru Outback are Audi Allroad and Volvo XC70. Although interior and performance are slightly better than the Outback’s, both SUVs are pricier, while Audi also has smaller cargo space, which can make a difference while shopping. Beside these two, there also few ther vehicles that could be rivals of the Outback, including Honda’s CR-V and 2015 Kia Sorento which is slightly bigger and has three rows of seat. Due to its size, Outback can also face smaller and mid-sized SUVs , so it could face both Ford Edge and Nissan Murano.
