Although the news about the end of production of Lancer Evo disappointed many, there was certainly the hope that Lancer will be redesign, but didn’t happen. 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer is available in ES, GT, SE and Ralliart trim levels, and for the last year in production, there is also Evolution version. This is the last model year we will see this line-up for Mitsubishi Lancer, having in mind that EVO ends the production, and we believe that next model year will bring massive changes for other trims, and redesign of the Lancer sedan. Depending on trim there is couple of additions for every single one. We mentioned changes in the introduction, and addition of new Value package which includes 16-inch alloy wheels, FUSE Hands-Free Link System, high contrast meters with color multi-information display, chrome interior door handles, soft-touch front upper door trim and rear disc brakes. SE trim got a color multi-function display as additional to its standard features, while GT models with CVT can opt for yet another all-new package, Sun and Sound.

Mitsubishi has always been known for its performance, and for 2015 Mitsubishi it has two engines, boosted differently. Base ES variant comes with a 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that delivers 148 horsepower. There are two engine choices for the base trim, including 5-speed manual and tech-advanced CVT, and 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer ES gets to 34 mpg on the highway and 26 mpg in the city, according to EPA ratings. Upper trim, SE, has stronger engine under the, a 2.4-liter DOHC MIVEC 4-cylinder with 168 horsepower. It also comes mated to a CVT only, and with AWC (All-Wheel Control). Third in the line-up, Lancer GT offers the same engine and output but adds a transmission choice between 5-speed manual and CVT. Top of the lineup, Raliart, is equipped with a 2.0-liter DOHC turbocharged and intercooled 4-cylinder engine with Mitsubishi Motors’ MIVEC variable valve-timing technology and capable to deliver 237 horsepower. It comes paired to a 6-speed TC-SST. Raliart fuel economy is rated at 18/25 mpg city/highway, GT’s at 23/30 mpg, SE’s at 22/29 mpg.

Lancer will face a lot of rivals, having in mind crowded category its competing in. Rivals, that 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer will be battling with, are Kia Forte, Audi A4, Honda Civic, Subaru Impreza and few more. Although its somewhat outdated look can be its downside, its price and performance are on the right track.

Pricing for 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer ranges from around $ 18,000 up to $ 30,000. Exact prices by trims, for 2015 models year, are: ES – $ 18,295 ($ 17,395 with manual transmission), SE – $ 20,995, GT – $ 21,595 ($20 595 with manual transmission) and Railart – $ 29,495. Mitsubishi released pricing and specs of the 2015 Lancer, and we believe it should go on sale by the end of August or early on September.
