Grand Touring 19-inch wheels, auto headlamps, automatic wipers, heated mirrors and front seats, two-zone automatic climate control and leather upholstery. Under its hood 2015 Mazda CX-5 offers few choices, regarding engine, drivetrain and transmission. Base engine, found under the hood of Sport trim is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine capable to deliver 155 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard, while all-wheel drive is available as optional, and is paired exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission. FWD model come with six-speed manual gearbox as standard, and can opt for automatic. Second available engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that’s good for 184 horsepower and 185 lb-ft of torque. This engine is found under the hood of upper trims, and under the hood of Sport trim with AWD which are produced after May this year. AWD and FWD are available on upper trims too, while the transmission choice is limited to 6-speed automatic. The best fuel economy combination is 2.0-liter engine and manual transmission which are rated to deliver up to 35 mpg on the highway. With automatic, 2015 Mazda CX-5 Sport is rated at 26 mpg city/32 mpg highway with FWD, while AWD delivers one mile less per segment. Stronger engine doesn’t fall behind great fuel economy rates of the weaker one. FWD models with 2.4-liter engine deliver 25 mpg city/32 mpg highway, and AWD 24/30 mpg.

2015 Mazda CX-5 will battle in competitive category with numerous great SUVs. As first of its rivals we have mention Honda’s CR-V SUV, which offers enough room and comfort as well as Mazda’s CX-5, but less responsiveness. 2015 Mazda CX-5 Sport version price goes from $21 545 up to $24 395 if you opt for AWD, and buy a version with stronger engine. Touring version goes from $24 965 to $26 215, and Grand Touring from $27 970 to $29 220. Mazda revealed its 2015 CX-5 earlier on, and it hit the dealer showrooms few months ago.
