Many people can be confused with name plate of this mid-size luxury SUV, due to the fact that it is sometimes referred as Discovery 4 and sometimes as LR4. If you decide to buy 2015 Land Rover LR4, you will have to choose between base, HSLE and HSE LUX trims. 2015 Land Rover LR4 is available in two versions, as a two-row five-seater or as a three-row seven seater. Depending on which option you choose, you will get either 9.9 cubic feet of cargo spec (behind third row) or 44.3 cubic feet (with folded third row) while with both rows down or tumbled (2nd), maximum cargo space 2015 Land Rover LR4 offers is 76.8 cubic.

LR4’s performance features were enhanced last year. It got engine replacement, and for this model year, there is no any news under the hood. Only engine option is a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 and it has 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. It comes paired with an ZF’s 8-speed automatic transmission. Land Rover still offers two 4WD systems for its 2015 LR4. Standard system has a single-speed transfer case, while HD Package (Heavy Duty) offers two-speed case and active locking differential optimized for off-road drive. Stop-start system which helps fuel consumption savings is also standard. This system and change of engine and transmission last year, brought great fuel economy rates. LR4 will be able to go up to 15 mpg in the city, and 19 on the highway. 2015 Land Rover LR4’s towing capacity is rated at 7 716 pounds.

LR4 has numerous competitors, which offer similar capabilities and more or less different price. Its first line of competitors includes luxury division made of Audi Q7, BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz M-Class and Porsche Cayenne. Infiniti QX60, Acura MDX and Buick Enclave also offer three rows and seven seats, but are priced lower than the popular LR4.

2015 model year brings modest increase in price, due to added features. Compared to last year edition, base 2015 Land Rover LR4 is $730 pricier, and costs $51 325. Its release date is expected later this year, when British automaker plans to present full specs and new colors.
