2015 Kia Forte Koup sx, ex, review

Kia’s Forte is one of the models with broadest offerings in the world. The model comes in three body styles, including 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, or 5-door hatchback. 2015 Kia Forte Koup is the latest version of the Coupe model. The Koup was redesigned for previous model year, together with the rest of the line-up, so this time, great looking Koup gained only minor changes, mainly in fuel economy. Let’s review the 2015 Kia Forte Koup by its segments:

Front end of Kia’s 2015 Forte Koup features Kia’s recognizable “Tiger Nose” grille and headlights with LED running lights. Rear end, on the other hand has sleek taillights and a rear diffuser. Front and rear ends are bridged with sloping roofline.

Inside the Koup, Kia incorporated asymmetrical design of the dashboard. Besides original design, cabin is also made and upholstered with high-quality materials. Popular Koup comes in two trims, including EX and SX. Even the base trim EX comes highly equipped. It offers climate control, full power accessories, Bluetooth connection, a 6-speaker AM/FM/CD/Sirius XM stereo with AUX and USB inputs, steering wheel-mounted controls, a trip computer, power-adjustable heated mirrors, fog lights, cruise control, a leather-wrapped tilt/telescoping steering wheel and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Under the hood, Kia offers two engines. Base, EX is packed with a naturally-aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. It is capable to produce 173-horsepower and 154 lb.-ft. of torque. Power is transmitted to front wheels via 6-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission.

Upper trim SX is packed with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. This engine has the same drivetrain (front wheeled) while transmission options include 6-speed manual, and 6-speed automatic gearboxes.

The EX fuel economy is rated at 25/34 mpg city/highway with automatic and one mile less in the city with manual. The SX returns 22/30 mpg city/hwy with automatic transmission, and one mile less on the highway with manual.
