2015 Honda Pilot

2015 Honda Pilot belongs to second generation of this model, and few years ago, back in 2012 it had a facelift which pointed the direction Honda aims to go with this model. With numerous rewords for different categories, including safety and popularity, this large crossover SUV proved its quality. For 2015 model year Honda decided to add on another trim, SE (Special Edition) which will mark the transition between middle and top trim.

2015 Honda Pilot now has one more trim, and is officially available in four variants including LX, EX, SE, EX-L and Touring. 17-inch steel wheels, rear privacy glass, keyless entry, cruise control, rear air conditioning, a rearview camera, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, an eight-inch display screen and sound system with seven speakers, CD player, an auxiliary audio jack and an iPod/USB audio interface are features incorporated into standard equipment found in 2015 Pilot LX. When you go further the line-up, you will get more. New Special Edition trim adds on 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, a rear entertainment system and satellite radio.

Although 2015 Pilot SUV has various trims and numerous features, all its variants are packed with a 3.5-liter V6 engine under the hood that produces 250 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on all models, while all-wheel drive is available as optional. The down-side of 2015 Honda Pilot performance is its acceleration time, which is slower than the average. However its EPA-estimated fuel economy is rated at 18/25/21 mpg city/hwy/combined for models with FWD, while AWD models have slightly lower mileage and are rated at 17/24/20 mpg.

Chevy Traverse is the closest rival due to the same level of comfort and space they offer. However we can’t discard the Ford Flex as tough competitor. Third SUV that could jeopardize 2015 Honda Pilot’s position on the market is Toyota’s Highlander.

2015 Honda Pilot LX base price is $29 870 for model with front-wheel-drive, and $ 31 470 for AWD LX models. EX variant with FWD is priced at $32 120 ($33 720 with AWD), SE $33 120 with FWD ($34 720 with AWD), EX-L FWD $35 370 ($36 970 AWD) and Touring FWD $40 020 ($41 620 AWD). Honda decided to release specs regarding new Pilot but, it is unclear when, or will it, have world premiere at some international auto show.
