Chevrolet Malibu just recently had a major redesign, to be precise in 2013, and tough competition in mid-size sedan category forced Chevy officials to create a surprising amount of upgrades for last model year, 2014. This, 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, however, brings few novelties. Hybrid variant of Malibu is dismissed from production, while the rest of the trims gained OnStar system with 4G LTE and WiFi connectivity.

2015 Chevrolet Malibu is available in three trim levels, like its predecessors, and it will include LS, LT and LTZ. Although it hasn’t been any major news for this model year, Malibu still has a lot to offer.First in line is the LS trim which comes packed up with 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, cruise and climate control, power accessories and adjustable driver seat, OnStar system, Bluetooth connection and sound system with sex speakers and CD player. Second trim available is, actually divided into three versions, which are market with a number in front of the LT mark. Vinyl upholstery, heated mirrors with incorporated turn signals, MyLink infotainment system, satellite radio, USB/iPod interface and additional audio input. LT second stage, 2LT adds 18-inch alloy wheels fog lights, 2-zone climate control, 8-way adjustable driver’s seat, leather wrapped steering wheel, while 3rd LT version indicates turbocharged engine under the hood. Third trim also has few version, 2 to be exact. First, so-called 1LTZ will provide you leather seats and heated front, 8-way adjustable passenger seat and auto dimming rearview mirror. Top trim, and its top variant, 2LTZ indicates that you will get stronger engine as well as sunroof.

Two engine variant are available under the hood of 2015 Chevrolet Malibu, which you could assume based on the trim review. Base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that produces 196 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. Paired with front wheel drive and 6-speed automatic transmission, and run by base engine new Malibu has fuel economy rates at 25/36/29 mpg city/highway/combined. High fuel consumption ratings are possible also due to start-stop system. Second, more powerful engine is 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit that has an output of 259 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Mated to the same transmission and drivetrain as base engine, fuel economy figures are 21/30/24 mpg.

Compared to its competition Malibu has little bit boxier and conservative look, while other sedan from the same category have slightly leaner and more elegant. His closest rivals are 2015 Nissan Altima, 2015 Ford Fusion and 2015 Hyundai Sonata. When compared to these vehicles, Malibu has its advantages, but every one of these vehicles can counteract. 2015 Nissan Altima has better fuel consumption, Fusion is more handsome, while Sonata also has its stronger features.

2015 Chevrolet Malibu is released in sale this summer, just a few weeks ago. Its base price tag starts at $22 340 and goes up to $28 200, which is pretty much the same as the rice of its predecessor.
