2015 Acura RDX

Acura RDX remains unchanged for 2015 model year. It falls into small luxury crossover SUV category, and tough competition in that segment forces Acura to always be on top of its feet. New RDX is available in two trim levels which include base and base with Tech Pkg. Differences between trims are in features, while performance, and drive system is the same on both levels. Front-wheel-drive is standard for all RDX variants, while all-wheel-drive is available as optional.

Clean and simple, but armed with high quality is the best description for latest RDX. Interior is made out of high-quality materials, great textures, and filled with high-tech equipment. Dashboard design, made of two colors, gives a hint of luxury and elegance to the overall inside ambience. Interior is spacious, providing more than enough room even in the back seat. Although RDX is a small crossover, it still offers a lot of trunk space, speaking in numbers there is 26.1 cubic feet of cargo space, and with rear seats down, it goes up to 61.3 cubic feet of capacity. Standard equipment found in the 2015 RDX includes numerous features. Some of it includes 18-inch wheels, auto headlamps, rearview camera, keyless start, leather upholstery and steering wheel, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink, USB & iPod Integration and more.

2015 Acura RDX doesn’t offer much choice regarding the engine, in fact, it doesn’t offer any choice at all. Packed with only one engine under the hood, new Acura RDX will receive its power from a 3.5-liter V6 engine which produces 273 hp and 251 pound-feet of torque. Transmission choice is also limited to a six-speed automatic. RDX accelerates from zero to 60 in just about 6.5 seconds, while its fuel economy is pretty good. EPA estimates are 20/28/23 mpg city/highway/combined for model with FWD, while all-wheel-drive models have slightly lower figures, and are rated at 19/27/22 mpg city/highway/combined.

2015 Acura RDX: Competition

The main competitors for 2015 Acura RDX are Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Volvo XC60, due to similar ratings. Audi’s Q5 offer less cargo space, but it compensate with few features more than RDX, mainly related to safety, although RDX received best scores on crash tests.

Price range depends on drivetrains and trims. Base level 2015 Acura RDX is priced at $34 895 for variant with FWD, and $36 295 with AWD. Higher trim, Base with Tech Pkg has a price tag of $38 595 for models with FWD, and $39 995 with AWD. RDX had its debut in January 2014, at the Chicago Auto Show, and it was released on sale in April.
