2015 Acura ILX: Exterior and Interior

Latest ILX is available in two trim levels, which are labeled by its engines, and include 2.0 and the 2.4. 2015 Acura ILX upgraded its package of standard features by adding leather upholstery, active noise cancellation, heated front seats, rearview camera and few more. This change made a big difference by making the ILX one of the best equipped vehicles among its price range. Exterior stays almost the same, while the biggest change is, in fact, the end of hybrid’s production, due to its low sale rates. Inside, besides few extra standard features, 2015 ILX reflects typical Acura design and layout. Info display is set in the center of the dashboard that has practical setting and elegant look. Optional features are divided into two main packages, including Technology and Premium, if you decide to opt for more entertainment options or more luxurious feel.

2015 Acura ILX: Engine

Like we mentioned earlier, new 2015 ILX hybrid variant is no longer available, but we believe that Acura will ultimately bring the hybrid back into production. Engines available under the hood of 2015 ILX include 2.0-liter four-cylinder and stronger 2.4-liter four-cylinder, and depend on trim you opt for. 2.0-liter comes with 150 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque and paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, while its fuel economy is rated at 24/35mpg city/highway. 2.4-liter unit is available only with 6-speed manual transmission without the option of automatic, and it can run 22/31 miles per gallon city/highway. It is obvious that Acura focused on comfort and safety in making of ILX, so it is no surprise that 2015 model earned five star score in NHTSA testing and top score on IIHS tests. Stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes, brake assist are just some of safety features found in 2015 ILX.

2015 Acura ILX: Competition

Its toughest competitors definitely come from Germany. 2014 BMW 2 series and 2014 BMW i3 offer better results in performance, and give wide range of high-tech features, but Acura wins the fuel economy and pricing segment. Other competitor from Germany is a 2015 Volkswagen GTI, while ILX could find a great rival in Subaru’s WRX model. Perhaps the number one rival is a Buick Verano due to the fact that it offers a huge number of standard features, just like the ILX.
